Several U.S. states are currently debating the legalization of same-sex marriage and because this topic is "in the air"  we are highlighting an Akashic Records channeling about sexual orientation. Why are some people heterosexual and some people homosexual?  Is the reason genetic or learned?  Do people have a choice about their sexual orientation? 

The reason some people are heterosexual and other people are homosexual is very similar to the reason some people have brown hair and other people have blonde hair.  Your genetic codes help determine your sexual orientation.  And in the same way that there is a spectrum of blondness to brownness in your hair color, there is a spectrum of sexual expression embedded in your genetic code.   Your sexual identities are your choice.  Most people have a genetic code that enables them to feel sexually attracted to different kinds of people.  All of you, whether you identify as gay, straight or something else, are socialized.  All of you are given different social pressures, social belief systems, social values and social experiences that lead you to identify yourselves somewhere on the spectrum of sexual expression. 

Some of you are born with a very strong genetic code leaning toward heterosexuality; some of you are born with a very strong genetic code leaning toward homosexuality.  Many more of you are born with a potential for both.  Looking at the identities of heterosexual or homosexual through the Akashic Records, these identities appear not as a spectrum, not as a duality where you are either one or the other; these identities appear as part of a circle.  People fall at certain points on the circle depending on both their genetic code and on the social situations or their social programming – both help determine their process of identity.  The short answer is your sexual orientation has genetic roots.  All of you have a choice about how you express your genetic code. 

The choice for all of you is this, do you choose to hide a part of yourselves and live without integrity?  Or, do you choose to embrace all of yourself with as much integrity as possible?  It might be easy to imagine that only gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and transsexual people must grapple with this choice, because they experience the most pressure to hide themselves – but the question must also be addressed by people who identify as heterosexuals.  In fact, heterosexuals are faced with a particular challenge, for your sexual expressions are less politicized and less visible.  It can be too easy to ignore your need to establish your unique sexual identity, and so lose the opportunity to come into a deeper integrity with yourselves.  All people must come to terms with their own true selves including all of their sexual expressions, frustrations, yearnings, confusions, and power.  All people must decide whether to hide themselves or share themselves. 

You see this need being played out often when people feel shame or hide their sexual yearnings or their fantasies.  When natural sexual expressions are hidden and when people feel shame, you find that you begin to squeeze your expressions into more twisted forms that involve hurting or taking advantage of one another.  This occurs regardless of sexual orientation.  It occurs across the board and across the globe.  It is the next frontier for healing in the human race. 

All of you, regardless of your sexual orientation and your sexual identity, must come to terms with your own sexuality and you must find a way to be in alignment with yourselves.  Therefore, the best thing you can do for one another is to be kind and to honor the fact that all of you are different and yet all of you are the same.  All of you operate on the same circle of sexual identity.  At any given time, any of you move on the circle depending on what you need in your life.  Each of you is born with a destiny and each of you is born with a genetic code that helps guide your sexuality.  It is inaccurate to imagine that others will express themselves in ways that are similar to you or that others will feel the same ways that you do.  The only thing that is accurate in this regard is to operate as if everyone is different and everyone is good.   As long as each of you is in alignment with your highest good, then all of you are perfectly fine just as you are.   

January 2012:

This Saturday, January 21st, is the second anniversary of the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision in Citizens United declaring that corporations are persons with the same rights as living natural persons and may legally donate unlimited amounts of money to support or oppose political candidates. What do the Records say about what a corporation is, in terms of spirituality and energy?

A corporation is a collective expression of individual ego attachments.
This definition is based on the idea that every organization has a spirit
of its own. Human-made organizations -- like businesses, religions,
nonprofit organizations, family groups, social groups, and others -
- are activated by and influenced by the souls of all of the people
involved in them. A corporation is activated when an individual begins
an organization based on their desire for personal fulfillment. Most
businesses begin this way, in which an individual is pursuing personal
fulfillment through creating the organization or creating the business.
As the business grows and if it decides to become a corporation,
it does so energetically because enough other individuals attach
their personal desires for personal fulfillment to the organization.
This includes the ways that every employee attaches their need for
personal fulfillment to what they are doing in their work. It includes
every stockholder who attaches their own need for personal fulfillment
to the money they have invested in the company. It includes every
manager, every board member, and every individual involved in
the corporation. Each person has attached their desire for personal
fulfillment to the business corporation.

Most human pursuits begin with a desire for personal fulfillment.
There is nothing wrong there. But, where this goes wrong is when
enough individuals get stuck in their personal attachment to what
they expect from the corporation, so much so that they are no longer
pursuing personal fulfillment on their own terms. They are instead
waiting for, hoping for, or striving for the corporation to bring them
personal fulfillment. And this places individuals in a powerless position
in regard to the corporation.

To understand this, imagine the stereotypical image of a corporation
executive who feels lonely and unimportant, and so strives to be
successful in their business endeavors by spending too much time
in the office and not enough time at home with their loved ones
and friends. Those loved ones and friends who are ready to offer
appreciation, respect, and adoration for that man are left lonely
at home while the man is striving to find those personally fulfilling
experiences in the corporation itself. The man’s attachment of his
yearning for fulfillment to the idea of what the corporation will offer
leaves him searching in the wrong place. Where his role with the
corporation will bring some fulfillment, if he attaches all his needs to
the corporation he become inflexible in how and where he pursues
his needs. This attachment becomes paralyzing and ultimately
disempowering, no matter how high his rank in the corporation.

Human beings are built to be flexible. You are made to need and find
different kinds of fulfillment in different ways, and these are meant to
change as you continue to grow and expand. A business endeavor is
not meant to and is not capable of bringing you the entire package of
personal fulfillment.

The way corporations have evolved across the world is through an
unconscious agreement among many individuals to misplace their
desires for personal fulfillment into the corporation, thereby feeding
the corporation time and lots of energy in the hope that you will be
personally fulfilled. There will be many different individual yearnings
involved in the corporations. Some people want respect, some people
want to be loved, some people want to be comfortable or to feel
safe by having a lot of money. All of those are different for each
individual and every corporation has lots of individuals with different
yearnings, but overall, corporations grow to the size that they do
because enough people make an unconscious agreement to misdirect
their personal quest for fulfillment from the center of their own lives
to the corporation itself. This displaces the individual's energy and
empowerment from the center of their own life into the corporation.
That is what leads people to work too much, it is what leads people to
do things they really do not love to do for the corporation.

Ultimately, there is no one person pulling the strings and no one in
charge of how this operates on a spiritual level. It is an unspoken,
mostly unconscious agreement among many people that ultimately
becomes unfulfilling and disempowering. The problem is not in
seeking and finding fulfillment through work and business – it is in the
relationship that becomes stuck when you attach too much of your
needs in too permanent a way to your business endeavors.

That is traditionally how corporations have grown. However, not
every corporation is the same. Some corporations take more
from their employees than others. Some corporations encourage
disempowerment than others. There is a way that corporations can
structure themselves so that employees to feel respected as they do
their work, and there are ways that corporations set up structures so
that employees feel disrespected and invisible as they do their work.
There are countless different ways that corporations can be structured
in order to be either more or less empowering to the individuals
involved -- including stockholders and employees, managers and
board members.

And so every corporation is different, but ultimately, the way
corporations have become as powerful as they are, is because so
many individuals have forgotten where their true personal fulfillment
lies. And it lies in centering your life on what works best for you
rather than consciously or unconsciously giving more and more of
yourself away to the hope that an organization will fulfill you.

Organizations are not bad in and of themselves and corporations
are not necessarily bad in and of themselves, but they can become
destructive when an individual gives too much of himself or herself
away to the corporation in the hope that the corporation will fulfill him
or her completely. Personal fulfillment is inherently based on receiving
what you need from many different sources because each individual
human being has so many different needs. You need to feel validated
and loved, you need to feel safe and secure, you need to feel powerful
and effective and productive. You are meant to experience many
different kinds of relationships in order to fulfill your needs, thereby
making room for you to evolve and grow.

September 11, 2011: Remembering the World Trade Center Tragedy 10

The Keepers want to tell you about September 11 of 2001 and what that date has come to represent for all of humanity on a collective level. Take this anniversary, and the sense of surrender and collective energy it holds, as a time to explore your own heart. Note that the main message in this week's specific channeling about Sept. 12-18 from the Keepers concerns healing. Surrender anything that is holding you back and to finally allow yourself to just pay attention to love and just ask yourself every day, think about what you can do to bring more love to the world. If each of us does that on an individual level, collectively, there will be an intense and powerful healing for the entire world.

Now is a perfect opportunity for you to make a choice to regard the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and every other injustice you have encountered in your life with compassion and to let go of the things you resent. Let go of the fight that is not really happening anymore. In your heart, it is time to release, to stop telling yourself that the ways that you have been betrayed or hurt in your life before are holding you back now. The only thing holding you back now is your resentment or the ways that you hold onto old stories that limit you.

If enough of you really work to let go of resentment in your life this month, there is the opportunity for the entire world to take an enormous step forward toward love and away from fear. None of you can do it on behalf of humanity, but all of you can do your part and it will make an enormous difference in terms of bringing more light and love to the world.

Global Economy

The news continues to be gloom and doom about the state of the US economy, with constant reporting on the recession, unemployment figures, government spending cuts, and the debt ceiling debate. How does the turmoil in the U.S. economy affect the larger global economy, and for long can we expect this situation to continue? It's easy to get caught up in the doomsday-like forecasts, but there are actually ways that individuals can work with this emerging economy in productive ways.

A recent channeling about the economy yielded the following information: 

The ongoing economic crisis will eventually be resolved. The only question at hand is how long you as a collective will wait to make the needed corrections, and how bad the situation will need to be before you make those corrections.

Ultimately, the only economic system that will be sustainable will be a system that benefits all people equally and that requires an equal investment from all people.  Those systems will either evolve from the system you have now, or they will arise like a phoenix from the ashes of your current system if you allow your current system to completely dissolve.  Transforming what you have now will be the more gentle approach, and it will require all of you to make significant changes based on equal opportunity and equal investment.  This is very complicated because you live in a world that is so much unbalanced in terms of who has what resources and how those resources are allocated.  So much will need to change, but it is possible.

Natural Disasters:

...Earthquakes are related to revolution; they often occur in a place where change either needs to take place, or where changes are taking place very rapidly.  They certainly serve as a way to get your attention, not just those who experience the earthquake on the ground, but also those who learn about the earthquake through the news or through stories. 

Another general purpose and effect of earthquakes is that they are a harbinger of change and they are a request for change.  They ask you to release something.  Whenever you feel an earthquake, hear about an earthquake, or read about an earthquake, it would serve you well to sit back and ask yourselves, “What can I release now?”  “What in my life is outdated or old, what is no longer serving me and how can I let that go?” and finally, “Who am I becoming?”
